Harry Potter Series

Harry Potter is a series of seven fantasy novels, which are authored by J. K. Rowling. The story revolves around the life of a young orphaned wizard, Harry Potter, and his adventures while studying at the Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. The expanse of the fan base of the Harry Potter books paved the way for the production of films, video games, and other tie-in merchandise. To date, five of the books have been used as basis for motion picture series with Daniel Radcliffe as Harry. The latest instalment being the Half-Blood Prince, which is scheduled for release in July 2009.

Meanwhile, the first five Harry Potter films were regarded the highest grossing series of all time earning 3 billion pounds worldwide. All in all, the Harry Potter brand is worth 7 billion pounds.
