One Piece
“One Piece” is a long-running manga or Japanese comics written and illustrated by Eiichiro Oda, which was serialized in Weekly Shonen Jump magazine since August 4, 1997. It sold off more than 140 copies and became second highest-selling manga in Japan. Thus far, there are already 53 volumes of “One Piece” as of March 4, 2009. The story revolves around the life of teenage Monkey D. Luffy who received supernatural powers after eating a magical fruit.

Together with his ragtag friends of heroic pirates called Straw Hats, Luffy sets off to find the legendary treasure, One Piece, to become the next King of the Pirates. “One Piece” is heavily influenced by the manga, “Dragon Ball.” It was released in the English language for worldwide distribution, particularly North America and in the United Kingdom. Additionally, “One Piece” was adapted into nine feature films, animé series, video games, and original video animations.
