The Bourne Identity
“The Bourne Identity” is the first of three novels written by Robert Ludlum who died in 2001. The novel was released in 1980; the next novel “The Bourne Supremacy” in 1986; and “The Bourne Ultimatum” in 1990. The Bourne trilogy relates one long, cohesive story following one character, Jason Bourne, and how he changes over time. Bourne is an amnesiac trying to know his identity despite the conspiracy within the CIA to hunt him down for failing to do his duty as a spy.

The Bourne Supremacy Film
The films were released in 2002 (Identity), 2004 (Supremacy), and 2007 (Ultimatum) starring Matt Damon. Identity earned 146 million pounds in gross sales, Supremacy earned 197 million pounds, and Ultimatum earned 302.5 million pounds worldwide. All the three films earned at least two Academy Awards each year of release. The popularity of the Bourne film led to it being adapted as a video game entitled, “The Bourne Conspiracy” in 2008.
