The Dark Night

The Dark Night refers to Batman, the alter ego of Bruce Wayne and the saviour of Gotham City. “The Dark Knight Returns” is a Batman comic mini-series written and illustrated by Frank Miller and published by DC Comics from February to June 1986. The mini-series was followed by “The Dark Knight Strikes Again,” which was published in 2001. Other Batman comic series have been published since the 1940s and up to present. Batman, initially Bat-Man, is a fictional comic character originally created by Bob Kane and Bill Finger and published by DC Comics.

The character first appeared in “Detective Comics #27” released in 1939. Batman is story about the life of Wayne, a rich businessman, playboy, and philanthropist as he takes up the bat-themed costume and cleans his city from outlaws. Unlike most superheroes, Batman has no special powers but fights using his advanced gadgets and martial arts abilities. Batman would later on team up with another super hero named Robin. The success of Batman character is proven by the many succeeding comic books, films, television series, and merchandise related to Batman.
