Twilight Series

Perhaps, the next big hit following Harry Potter and the Lord of the Rings is Twilight. Twilight is a series of four novels about a forbidden vampire-human romance between teens, Edward Cullen and Isabella Swan. The novels are written by Stephenie Meyer, with Bella Swan’s point of view used in Twilight. The titles are “Twilight,” “New Moon,” “Eclipse,” and “Breaking Dawn.” Meyer, however, released “Midnight Sun,” a retelling of “Twilight” but this time using Edward Cullen’s point of view.

The Twilight series has gained worldwide patronage, particularly among young adults. More than 42 million copies of the books have been sold globally. The Twilight series, now in 37 languages, was named USA Today’s biggest-selling novels for the year 2008. So far, only the “Twilight” novel has been made into a film, which also became a success. Robert Pattinson, the actor who had a minor role in some of the early Harry Potter films, plays as Edward Cullen in the “Twilight” film.
